I am currently wearing many hats. Mother, student, working, business startup, blogger, instagramer and snap chatter. These are only a few of the hats I wear daily and I won’t lie these tasks on top of homework, cooking and staying in shape leaves little time for beauty. However I refuse to throw my looks in the wind just yet and I wanted to share some ideas with my readers on how I keep my look fresh and stylish especially in the summer months.
Hair
I’ve spent thousands upon thousands of dollars at the hair salon. Buying hair extensions, wigs, braids and what ever else I could to make life easier in the hair department. Hair can be a tedious trial of success and error. My suggestion for on the go hair is to wear braids and or wigs. As much as I love natural styles I found them to be time consuming and if not done right, natural styles can be very damaging to your hair. Right now wigs (human and synthetic) are big! YouTube and Instagram are great places to find tutorials for dyi hair. This includes wigs, weaves and extensions. A few of my favorite you tubers are @malibudollface @ivyleaguestyles and twin goddesses (Iesha and Elise) check them out for tutorials and major hair inspiration.
Makeup
For me I will not leave the house anymore without at least the basics however I don’t feel that everyday calls for a full contour. My basics are ;
1. Moisturizer (this is theee most important part of your look. Skin is important and moisture is essential)
2. Primer (right after moisture now we need something to tone down that natural glow)
3. Tint or light concealer (under eyes and brows and especially in areas that have a darker pigment)
4. Powder (lightly apply because primer can make the skin flaky so go easy on this)
5. Eyebrows, mascara and gloss.
This literally takes me all of 10 minutes. Now you’ve got your hair and makeup finished, now what to wear?
